is it just me or does everyone get slight heart palpitations as they approach the mailbox in hopes of something fun waiting for them on the other side? I don't know why, but I love getting mail...well, let me clarify, I love getting cards, wedding announcements, birth announcements, new address announcements, packages, refund checks...you know, the good stuff. I have always been this way. I'm obsessed with getting mail. Maybe that's why I'm such a big mail sender, if you will, because I know just how exciting it is to receive.
In fact I love it so much that after checking the mail, I get back in my car (I usually check it on my way home from work) and I insist on immediately opening it right then and there, rather than waiting to drive around the corner and open it at home.
Even worse: Occasionally, Dave and I will walk to the mailbox and I get the same heart palpitations as I approach the box with the key and anxiously pull everything out. Well, he makes fun of me because even if it's extremely windy, I INSIST on opening any/all "fun mail" on the walk back home as he tries desperately to hang on to all the other mail so it doesn't fly away.
IF Dave checks the mail and we have something fun that's addressed to us both, he always leaves it for me to open, because he knows how excited I get. He's such an amazing husband. So amazing that when I check the mail and there's something addressed to us both, I open it right away and he's okay with that. :)
It's the little things in life. *sigh*
